Born and raised in Soshanguve block HH. Hlengiwe attended the Tshwane University Of Technology and has a National Diploma in Journalism. She is currently enrolled with her B-Tech in Journalism. She is a current affairs producer and news anchor for current affairs show "live at 6" and also a news anchor for Am Rush its a breakfast show. What motivates her is the fact that she has passion for journalism, passion for people, passion for news and she is very passionate about being a middle man between the society and those that are in authority. TUT FM has actually given her that platform to polish and perfect her craft, they have given her that push, that kick to say Hlengiwe go into the studio and do your thing. That was a great opportunity for her as she got to find this is what she's good at and this is where she has to improve. She is part of the Sosh-maniacs which is a group of successful people who drives mini coopers, they go around to charity organisations. Hlengiwe do a lot of charity events, she cover a lot of charity stories. What makes it worth doing is the face that she see children fulfilled and what makes it fulfilling is that she see smiles on their faces. " I'm not just a journalist, I don't just cover stories I give a helping hand when there is a need to, I don't just get poverty-stricken home and extract information from them, If I have something I give not as a form of bribe but to me is humanity"she said. She describes a mentor as not necessarily someone you have to follow around, someone that you talk to, a mentor can be someone you see on TV be like I want to be like person. She grew up listening to Noxolo Grootboom and Ayanda Allie Paine delivering such nice bulletins and she was inspired. Today, Hlengiwe continues to inspire other young women. What attracted her to her job is the fact that she is able to produce quality packages of news, she is able to produce proper quality current affairs show, she is confident, she loves the spotlight, she loves going on-air and she is beautiful and its a great job. Growing Hlengiwe didn't move around a lot , she relocated last year to Ondesterpoort when she got married to her honey Thabiso Motaung. As a married woman and also a reporter she finds her self managing with her work . "Time is very important, first of all you need to know how to divide your time, at this time I'm going to be editing, then nap for two hours, I'm going to wake up and start sending e-mails and checking stories and lastly spend quality time with my family". To aspiring journalists in our field we are faced with critical problems especially censorship, as a journalist you should be proud , you have to be proud to tell a story in a way that you want .
